God, Are You There? It’s Me…

It’s been forever since the last time you speak in a press conference. Longer still, perhaps, since the last time you held an audience. The world is changing, do you know? Those green pastures you made now gone, concrete towers in its stead. The peaceful hills and mountains are scarred, some of them transformed into hollow valleys.

The air is thick with smoke, blackening our dear souls. We breathe in anger. We breathe in hate. The hell you said awaits? Well, we’re living in it.

Your name is everywhere; resonating murder and destruction. “Burn! Burn! In the name of God!” that’s the battle cry they shout into our nights. Blood flows on our streets, death reigns unchallenged. All in your name, they say. All in your holy name.

The storm is brewing, the silence lays within. These wars don’t seem to be ending soon, have you noticed we’re all dying? You taught us to believe in love, and faith, and hope. Hey! We are trying. Believing as we might, yet reality strikes.

They use faith to kill, hope to lie, and love to rape. Then we tried to believe in the glory of your name; but they use it as the reason for their deceitful oppression. What could we believe after that? We’re living in fear, we’re dying in vain. We all need help, but your angels are too damn busy. We have e-mails now, do you have an account?

All in all.. this is just a cry for help. So, God.. are you there? It’s me. It’s just me. Where have you been?
